Primate urges Canadians to give generously to earthquake response
The primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, Archbishop Fred Hiltz, has urged Canadian Anglicans to pray for the people of Haiti and the Canadian Haitian community, and to “give generously” to the relief efforts. “The people in Haiti have suffered so much in the past 10 years. Hurricane Jeanne ripped through the island in 2004 and in 2008, tropical storms took a huge toll. Now, a new disaster,” he said. Read the full story in the Anglican Journal.

Action By Churches Together
PWRDF is a member of Action By Churches Together International, ACT,---a global, ecumenical alliance of churches responding to humanitarian needs. PWRDF uses the ACT mechanism to channel almost all of its emergency response. PWRDF gives priority to emergency appeals for needs in countries of the south (Africa, Middle east, Asia/Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean). Within these countries, PWRDF gives priority to forgotten emergencies and appeals that are under subscribed.
The members of ACT are Protestant and Orthodox churches and their related agencies, drawn from the membership of the World Council of Churches and The Lutheran World Federation.
