Comforting the little ones

A counsellor comforts a 4 year-old boy who is dying of AIDS in Brazil. The number of people in Brazil living with HIV has remained at about 600,000. This is due to the progress Brazil has made in education, treatment and care. The Brazilian government is renowned for a health policy that provides free drugs to HIV infected people. PWRDF partner KOINONIA works in Brazil to educate the rural population on HIV and AIDS and gender relations. Education on gender relations is extremely important in PWRDF’s work. Both women and men must learn that women have the right and need the self-worth to resist bad cultural practices and unwanted sexual advances.
