The Christian Host Committee takes the lead
The idea of inviting artists to speak to the issue of HIV and AIDS was born in The Christian Host Committee, an initiative from the Canadian Council of Churches to help people of faith from around the world feel welcomed and supported in Toronto during the XVI International AIDS Conference (August 13-18, 2006). Karen Plater, Chair of the CHC, commended guests for their involvement in raising awareness and encouraged everyone to speak out to break the silence around HIV and AIDS.
