Making process with migrant workers
PWRDF partner St. John’s Cathedral HIV Education Centre, in Hong Kong, China has been on the forefront of addressing the plight of Asian migrant workers. Their lack of sexual health and reproductive rights makes the migrant worker vulnerable to HIV and AIDS.
“Stigmatization is a big challenge for us, we operate in a culture where it is taboo to talk openly about sex, it is a difficult topic to raise even within the migrant population in Hong Kong, said Elijah Fung, manager of St. John’s Cathedral HIV Education Centre, “ adding, “but we are happy with the progress we are making…we have given the migrant workers confidence and power to be aware of their sexual and reproductive rights.
