Action By Churches Together - a global ecumenical response to disaster
PWRDF directs emergency funds through a global ecumenical alliance - Action By Churches Together International (ACT). Drawing on its members from the World Council of Churches and the Lutheran World Federation, ACT International is today a 126-member global partnership of churches and related agencies united to respond compassionately and professionally to people caught in life-threatening emergencies.
The ACT Coordinating Office facilitates the alliance's response to emergencies, provides quality control of appeals), oversees funding flows, and distributes policies, standards and guidelines in humanitarian assistance. Emergency assistance channelled through ACT is thoroughly monitored and reported.
