Haidar and his dad Qasan delight in meeting snow and ice
The Diocesan sponsored refugee family (from Iraq) arrived on November 19 and were met by several of us on the PWRDF Refugee committee. They have now settled nicely in their 2-bedroom apartment that was fully furnished from the kind donations of parishioners throughout the diocese.
At first, Qasan and Hibaa couldn't imagine how cold it could get in Saskatoon, but they soon learned! However, they have now adjusted to our weather and are even enjoying it. They have been to the Meewasin Valley skating rink, have shoveled snow, had snowball fights and as I am composing this letter, they are ice fishing.
