Haiti: Angelina Jolie visits ACT Alliance February 11, 2010

American actor Angelina Jolie visited yesterday ACT Alliance’s projects in the hard hit area of Jacmel. Jolie is a goodwill ambassador for the UN refugee program, UNHCR, and her visit included the ACT project where 10 000 people get shelter and a new start in life. The homeless have got tents, food, water and medication. In the ACT camp, run by Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, Jolie was informed by the homeless about the life situation.
Angelina Jolie also visited one of the major trauma hospitals in Santo Domingo in the neighboring Dominican Republic on her two-day trip.
Together with her boyfriend Brad Pitt ,Angelina Jolie has donated one million U.S. dollars to relief work in Haiti.
