Description of Council Members

Michael Burtt represents the Student Christian Movement and lives in Victoria, in the diocese of British Columbia. He is completing his B.A at the University of Victoria and is very involved with the St. Philips parish with a special interest in the revival of the contemplative tradition within Christianity.

Derrick Lovell comes to the Youth Council from the Parish of White Bay in the diocese of Western Newfoundland and represents the ecclesiastical province of Canada. He is the vice-president of the student council at Main Point Academy, Pollard's Point, and was the co-founder of his school's environment and citizenship group. He is very involved in his parish as a usher, a reader, and a server. He is also involved with the Diocesan Mission Committee.

Victoria Garrett  is one of two representatives from the Ecclesiastical Province of Canada. Victoria comes to the Youth Council from Christ Church Cathedral, in the Diocese of Fredericton, where she is the parish PWRDF representative and a member of the diocesan PWRDF committee. Additionally, within the church, she is a delegate on Bishop and Chapter and is a member of the Christ Church Cathedral Puppeteers.

Outside of the church, Victoria is a Human Resources Professional who works for NB Power Distribution and Customer Service. She loves to travel, having participated in PWRDF's Mexico Delegation in the winter of 2007, and enjoys spending time with friends new and old. But enough of the formal stuff, here's what you really want to know:

Evan Rudderham represents the ecclesiastical province of Ontario, and is from St. John the Evangelist, Hamilton (Diocese of Niagara), where he is active as a server, and in a leadership role with the junior youth group and Vacation Bible School.  Evan also handles the sound system weekly for St. John's early Sunday service.  He has been the parish youth delegate to Diocesan Synod for two years and as such is a member of Parish Council.  Evan is also involved on the Diocesan level as a delegate to Niagara Youth Conference and Youth Synod.
 
Sabrina McLean is the newest representative for the ecclesiastical province of British Columbia and Yukon. Sabrina is from St. Michael's Cathedral in Kelowna, and has served the parish as a communion assistant, synod delegate, server, and past leader of the youth choir, Devotion in Motion. She has also served the British Columbia and Yukon Anglican Youth Movement as chairperson, and conference coordinator, and is currently the BCYAYM representative to the Eco-Justice & Social Concerns committee of the Provincial Synod.
 
Matt Koovisk is one of the representatives for the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon. Matt is a student at the University of British Columbia | Okanagan, where he is completing his BA in history, and is also student senator. Matt also plans to pursue a calling to the priesthood. He comes from St. Michael's Cathedral in Kelowna and St. George's, Westbank (Diocese of Kootenay), and has served both St. George's and St. Michael's as an associate organist, and has served St. Michael's as a server, a lay reader, and a subdeacon, among many other duties. He has also been active in the BCYAYM, serving as a Diocesan Representative for Kootenay, the Webmaster, and Sorrento Centre representative.

Emma Westcott continues to represent the province of Rupert's Land.
