Partnership for Life
The immensity of the HIV/AIDS crisis demands extraordinary measures from ordinary people.
One of the most urgent disasters facing our world today is the impact of HIV/AIDS on the lives of millions of people. HIV/AIDS has cut across generations, whole communities and nations, spreading across the entire continent with rapidity and severity. HIV/AIDS is not just a health crisis. It has developed social, cultural and human right's dimensions. PWRDF partners have been addressing the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS for years through a series of community led health promotion programs that are responsive to cultural sensitivities and real life situations.
In line with our Christian experience and teaching, PWRDF is supporting a variety of creative community responses that foster hope for a new life, and dignity for those discriminated against because they are living with HIV/AIDS.
Our Approach - Systemic, Steadfast, Responsive and Comprehensive
Our approach to the HIV/AIDS pandemic will be:
- Systemic Addressing the factors that intensify the spread of the disease and undermine the health of communities' income, nutrition, education, sanitation, healthcare, women's empowerment, migration, human rights, discrimination, and conflict.
- Steadfast Supporting programs within existing partnership relationships and allowing partners to expand and consolidate the work they are already doing.
- Responsive Pending a successful fundraising initiative we will expand the program to new partners. Further initiatives will be pursued as funds allow with other regions and highly affected populations.
- Comprehensive Including components of education, fundraising, communication, network activities and advocacy.
